Restoration and conservation of marine ecosystems and the coastal areas in Bali, Indonesia.

We do ocean.

Full of COLOURFUL LIFE,
instead of colourful PLASTIC.

OUR
Vision

We are working to restore and preserve marine ecosystems and the biodiversity for the long term. We actively promote understanding for the conservation of these ecosystems.

We are safeguarding livelihoods by improving living conditions in coastal communities.

Our goal is to raise awareness for sustainability.
By engaging local communities and opening up reef restoration to anyone who wants to get involved, we are making this system safe for the future.

Together we are moving faster, building thriving reefs, helping biodiversity recover and protecting a cultural heritage: the ocean.

Our projects

From coral reef restoration to coastal and marine waste management and education initiatives,
we are working with local communities in Bali, Indonesia,
to develop impactful projects to restore marine biodiversity and
protect the ocean and its environment.

Coral
Restoration

The Livingseas Coral Reef Restoration, is one of the largest coral reef restoration projects in Indonesia.
It is located just off the coast of Padang Bai, a small fishing village in northeast Bali, and will cover an area of 5 hectares.
Active restoration work began in 2020. Find out how big the new reef is now.

Waste
Management

Waste is a global problem, but while industrialized nations have recycling facilities and functioning waste management systems, the waste problem in Bali continues to grow. To combat this problem, Livingseas Foundation and its partners have developed a modern system for the collection, disposal and recycling of waste.

We are dependent on donations to continue our projects.

Many hands make light work

We restore, maintain and renew coastal and marine ecosystems,
every day of the month, every month of the year.
Thousands of people, companies, associations and schools help us in our work, for which we are very grateful.

What our Partners say

"EndPlasticSoup is an initiative of Rotary clubs worldwide that aims to combat global plastic waste through "action, awareness & alliances". It supports and works with many international NGOs that are also committed to fighting plastic waste. Livingseas Foundation is one of these partners. Only together are we strong and able to protect our environment."

"Holism and sustainability - that's what connects Technology without Borders and Livingseas. That's why we have successfully implemented our two-level project (on land and in the sea) for this - our - world: Implementing waste management and rebuilding coral reefs!
Don't talk, just do it!"

"The Karlsruhe-based Livingseas Foundation e.V., active in Bali, Indonesia, friends and former clients of our office, are committed to the reforestation of endangered coral reefs. By participating in their projects, we are underlining the importance of marine ecosystems and the need to take action and do something for the blue part of our planet."
