Today, OUR project, the Livingseas Coral Reef Restoration, is the second largest restored coral reef of its kind in Indonesia.

When you are a former IT product manager from Germany and now an active diving instructor in Bali, you simply pack your bags, get on a boat and start planting over 100,000 corals by hand with the aim of giving something back to the cultural heritage of the ocean, you have to have stamina.

You have to overcome hurdles, endure setbacks and failures and work voluntarily for hours underwater in sometimes strong currents.

You are labeled a sustainability “weirdo”, bore other people with your ambition and still keep going.

Five years later, you are faced with an intact marine ecosystem, with an incredible return of biodiversity, created by your own hands.

I always like to remember my father’s words:
